Use case
How to bill customers for their AI usage
Usage-based billing for AI features needs an attributed cost per customer as one of its inputs.
Spendline records the AI cost attributed to each customer for the traffic you route through it, which you can use as an input to your own billing. Spendline does not invoice your end customers; that stays in your billing system.
How it works
Each routed call is priced when it happens from Spendline's rate table and recorded against the x-customer-id your application sent. Those figures can feed whatever pricing you choose: at cost, with a markup, or bundled into a plan.

These are rate-based costs calculated per call. They can differ from the settled provider invoice because of credits, discounts or traffic outside Spendline, so decide which figure your contracts bill on.
Why it matters
Billing AI usage on a flat guess undercharges the customers driving cost or overcharges the ones who are not. Attributed per-call cost is a better starting point.
Frequently asked questions
Does Spendline send invoices to my customers?
No. Spendline attributes and records the cost. Invoicing happens in your own billing system.
Can I mark up the attributed cost before billing it?
That is your decision, made downstream of the figure Spendline provides.

Start with a guided 30-day free pilot on live production traffic. The 30 days start when your traffic flows through Spendline, not at sign-up. We agree the scope, success criteria and paid terms before you start. There is no Spendline subscription fee during the pilot; your model-provider charges still apply.
